Nurture Therapy
Grounded, supportive, and empathetic mental health services to help you nurture yourself and your relationships.
my approach
At the heart of my therapeutic approach lies a commitment to creating a nurturing space where you feel seen, valued, and understood. We’ll work collaboratively to empower you to take meaningful steps towards a fulfilling and balanced life. I also believe that therapy should be more than just a warm space and a listening ear. I’ll help you challenge lifelong patterns, address old wounds and traumas, and create a deeper and more compassionate sense of self.
A safe and supportive space
Pour yourself a cup of tea and make yourself at home. Our office is located in the historic Julia Building in beautiful downtown Santa Barbara, and offers a private and comfortable space for you to nurture yourself and your mental health. We also have a location in downtown Ventura just steps from the beach. Can’t make it to the office? No worries! We also offer Telehealth sessions from the comfort of your own space.
Becca Gasperoni, MA, LMFT, PMH-C
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Santa Barbara and Ventura, and I also treat clients throughout the state of California through Telehealth. Together, we'll uncover familiar patterns, explore what matters most, and try new ways of connecting with yourself and others. I offer empathetic, compassionate, and depth-oriented therapy to individuals, couples, and groups, and strive to support you in nurturing yourself and your relationships.
my specialties
-
EMDR Therapy and Trauma Recovery
Trauma-informed therapy can help you heal and regain a sense of balance and joy. I utilize somatic techniques to help you feel more at ease in your body and begin to integrate and process traumatic memories. I’m also trained in EMDR therapy, an evidence based approach to the treatment of trauma.
-
Medical and Perinatal Trauma
Perinatal trauma refers to emotionally traumatic events that occur during pregnancy, birth, or in postpartum. If you had a challenging birth, experienced pregnancy loss, or encountered medical trauma or other complications, you might be living with the impacts of perinatal trauma. I also work with those who have experienced trauma in the medical setting. I utilize evidence-based approaches to trauma treatment and have advanced training and expertise in the unique challenges of healing from medical and perinatal trauma.
-
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy can help you feel more connected, learn valuable tools for communication, and help you manage any challenges your relationship might encounter. I especially love working with new parents to navigate the transition to parenthood and reconnect in this new phase. I approach my work with couples from an emotionally-focused and attachment-based lens, and have training in Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy as well as the Gottman Method.
-
Pregnancy and Postpartum Mental Health
The journey toward motherhood or parenthood is full of unexpected challenges, joys, and profound change. This unique season is a time of significant psychological growth and self-discovery. I have advanced training in perinatal mental health, and have special expertise in working to support your mental health as you navigate pregnancy and postpartum, including knowledge of hormonal factor impacting mental health and screening and assessing for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
-
Disordered Eating and Body Image
Addressing body image challenges requires a holistic approach, combining mental health care, self-compassion, and strengthening your support systems. Together we’ll explore the root causes of your challenges with your body and eating, and help you create a healthier relationship with yourself. I also work as a therapist at a residential treatment center for eating disorders, and bring expertise to my work in this area.
-
NICU and medically complex parenting
If your baby is currently in the NICU or previously spent time in an intensive care unit, or if your child is living with complex medical needs, you might need support through this uniquely challenging time. As a fellow NICU parent, I have a special place in my heart for supporting families on this journey. Navigating medical appointments, therapies, and uncertainty around your child’s health is a uniquely challenging experience. You’re not alone.
I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.
